Yakutsk is one of the oldest towns in Russian Siberia. It was established by Cossacks in 1632 and served as the starting point of all major Far Eastern and Arctic exploration expeditions.

Nowadays, it is the capital of the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia). The current population is approximately 300 000 people unofficially.

 

We offer 11-hr or 5-hr Yakutsk city tour. Enough to see major sightseeings and venues. City attractions are listed below.

Standard City Tour Itineraries

 

11-hr City Tour (10:00 – 21:00):

 

9:30 – Meeting up at the hotel.
10:00 – 11:00 – Visit the Treasury of the Sakha Republic (Yakutia).
11:00 – 12:00 – Walk across Old Town with the 19th century recreated buildings, souvenirs & jewelry shops, and the Russian Orthodox Church. Visit Yakutsk Fortress’ Entry Gate Tower History Exhibition.
12:00 – 13:45 – Lunch at the “Makhtal” restaurant, the winner of the 2016 Yakutsk Food Festival (not included).
14:00 – 14:30 – Driving through Yakutsk.
14:30 – 15:45 – Visit to Mammoth Museum. Lecture by an active paleontologist, who embarks annual mammoth remains search expeditions and work on mammoth cloning together with colleagues and Korean partners. It’s the very museum, that discovered the bleeding mammoth in the North of the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia).
16:00 – 17:00 – Visit the Atlasovs’ Sakha ethnographic complex. With a traditional ceremony of purification and clarification. Excursion with a deep insight into the culture and traditions of the Sakha people.
17:15 – 18:00 – Visit the “Kingdom of Permafrost” Ice Tunnel Complex known also as Permafrost Museum.
18:00 – 20:00 – Dinner at the restaurant of the “Chochur Muran” ethnographic complex. W/ a chance to taste traditional meals of Northern peoples (not included).
20:00 – 20:30 – Transfer to the hotel.

 

11-hr Package includes:

5-hr City Tour (14:00 – 19:00):

 

14:00 – Picking up at the hotel and transfer to Mammoth Museum with stops by in the city en route.
14:30 – 15:45 – Visit to Mammoth Museum.
