Khanka Lake - the largest lake in the Russian Far East

Khanka Lake - the largest lake in the Russian Far East

Route program

Ussuriysky Nature Reserve offers the unique Ussuri wilderness of Southern Primorye with its primeval Manchurian forests unchanged by the centuries. You’ll see tall, ancient cedars draped in winding vines, rising from a forest floor carpeted with moss and ferns. There is nothing like Ussuriland anywhere in the world!

Located 250 km north of Vladivostok, Khankaisky Nature Reserve offers unique wetland and Khanka Lake - the largest lake in the Russian Far East. Over 300 species nest on or migrate through the reserve.

Lake Khanka is a paradise for aquatic and near-water birds. In total, 336 species of birds are registered here, of which: 140 species belong to reliably nesting; 76 species - found in winter; the rest occurring during the period of seasonal migrations. During migrations, as many as two million birds come through, including White Crane, Japanese Crane, White Stork, geese, ducks and many others.

The lake’s rich and diverse fish community is able to please the most fastidious lover of fishing rods and spinning. If you wish, we will arrange for you the boat ride to the most "fish place" on the lake, where you are guaranteed not to be left without a catch.

And definitely nobody will be indifferent to the unforgettable sunsets and sunrises on the lake, a real fish soup (uha), the majestic endless panorama of the lake, opening from any point of the coastline.

There will open up a surprisingly rich bird-watching world to observe and photograph on the banks of Khanka Lake for fans of wildlife, especially amateur birdwatchers.
