Take a chance to see Lena Pillars Nature Park, UNESCO’s World Heritage, in the wintertime.

Distance: 200 km one way or 400 round trip.


Group size: 1 – 5 people.

Please, note also that the first half of April is the last chance to travel on the ice-and-winter road from Yakutsk to Lena Pillars Nature Park. In the midst of April, ice roads are officially closed.

 

Trip Details

 

Round trip distance: ~400 km.


Duration: 12-14 hours.


Outdoor temperature in November-February: -30C and -50C.


Outdoor temperature in March-April: -10C and -25C.

 

Vehicles:
– Toyota Land Cruiser (for 1-3 people);
– Mitsubishi Delica (minivan) (for 1-5 people);
– Toyota Hiace (minibus) (for 6-8 people).

 

Itinerary:

 

08:00 – Leaving the place of stay (hotel/guest house/hostels). Stop by at a store to buy snacks and drinks for a trip.

08:30 – 12:30 – Drive to the abandoned village of Batamai, 200 km. W/ stops en route to observe caves, ancient rock paintings.

12:30 – 13:00 – Break, hot tea, warm clothes putting on.

13:00 – 17:00 – Crossing the Lena River to the opposite bank by a snowmobile with a passenger sledge, 3 km. Free time at Lena Pillars Park. Ascending to the top view point is possible, if the 2-km track is free of heavy snow. Back to Batamai. Time for lunch, warming up in a village wooden house.

17:00 – Start of the way back to Yakutsk.

±21:00 – Return to the place of stay.

Actual timing depends on the readiness of travelers, the quantity and length of stops en route.

Note: the final cost and the size of discount depend on a way of booking, the method of payment and the date of a trip. Current rates are given provided the tour is prepaid by bank transfer in RUB from a Russian bank or by a credit/debit card issued by a Russian bank in Russia.
