Route program

Vladivostok has a long and unreasonable claim to the title of the gastronomic capital of the region. Holding an annual festival dedicated to the Far Eastern delicacies, titled "Keep the Crab!" Adds additional points to the city.

The first festival took place in July 2016 and 14 restaurants of the city took part in it. To organize the holiday, restaurateurs bought 700 kg of blue king crab, which lives in the Bering Sea and is usually exported to Asian countries, and was sold about three times cheaper than the average cost of the menu.

Within two weeks, participating restaurants in the menu have live King crabs from aquariums, they unite and sell the product at a low price, which became possible thanks to the support of suppliers and fishermen of the Far East.
When guests order a crab, the waiter brings it from the aquarium, so that everyone can see for themselves that it is in good health, shows the tag, specifying the cost of the crab, and places it in the kitchen.

For the festival, the easiest and most comprehensible cooking method was chosen - steaming - to focus on the freshness and soft texture of the product, not masking the true taste of spices and additives.

King crab and blue King crab - unique in taste types of crabs, their meat resembles lobster meat. The average weight of the blue king crab is from 1 to 2 kg. In addition to vitamins A and B, its meat is enriched with zinc, selenium, potassium, magnesium, calcium, iron, as well as phosphorus and sodium. Caloric content is only 84 Kcal per 100 grams of seafood.

The festival "Keep crab!" Is held only in the crab harvesting season. For the blue king crab - July.
