Russian folk festivities have come to us from the depths of centuries. Previously, many-day festivities were common, and always arranged for New Year, Christmas, Pancake Week (Maslennitsa festival), Ivan Kupala and many other festivals. In other words, the people's festivities took place on the slightest occasion and lasted for up to a week.

In the cities and villages during the festivities, fairs were opened, on which, as a rule, they sold all sorts of sweets, ice cream, fruits and various drinks. In general, all those things that children and adults could not refuse. If the festivities passed beyond the city or village, for example, in a grove or on a glade, the classical tradition was the establishment of large canvas tents, under which were all kinds of merchants.
