Elena Island is one of the closest islands to Vladivostok city and at the same time rarely visited by tourists. The island, which is a 30-minute drive from the center and conceals many mysteries and secrets under the cover of the forest. You will meet with the beautiful nature: picturesque bays convenient for relaxation, the sea with clear water, dense forests twined with vines, hills that offer stunning views of the Russian island, Amur Bay and Vladivostok.
You will drive from Vladivostok to the Canal village (Russky Island). There will be a motorboat trip to Elena island. This is a walking tour of the island with a visit to the coastal batteries of Larionovskaya South and Larionovskaya-on-peak, viewpoints, dungeons, old buildings and other interesting objects of the secret island, as well as beautiful untouched nature, the smell of foliage and the sea.
Elena island is attractive and rich not only by nature but also by its history. Here is a complex of objects of the Vladivostok fortress: coastal batteries, powder cellars, the remains of the barracks town and underground structures. It will be interesting not only to history lovers but also allow anyone to learn a lot about the creation of an outpost of Russia in the Far East. After the tour, you will have unforgettable memories of communicating with nature and the history of our native land!
This tour is carried out by an experienced guide who knows the island very well, who will share with you his extensive knowledge about the history and nature of Elena island.
In general, this is a simple route for the frequent traveler and not very difficult for homebodies. It requires some skill. The route is laid along a forest road with a small section along a trail. Very easy climbing uphill! There are sections where the trail runs along the slope near high steep cliffs and can be slippery. Shoes MUST be with a tread!
Upon your request, there can be seafood BBQ right on the seashore (extra charge).
1. Clothing should be warm and comfortable for walking in the forest, according to the weather!
2. Shoes comfortable for walking necessarily with a good tread, with a thick grooved sole. On the route, there may be sections of sandstone that rolls underfoot, sometimes slippery. There are areas with small ascents and descents.
